Restoring Hope,
One Second Chance at a Time
Dedicated to supporting qualified incarcerated individuals and their families, creating pathways to justice, and building opportunities for a brighter future.
Advocating for Qualified Second Chances
We believe in the power of second chances, but our focus is on helping qualified individuals who meet specific criteria. By targeting our resources strategically, we aim to maximize the impact of our work, ensuring meaningful, life-changing outcomes for individuals and families navigating the challenges of incarceration.
Empowering Students Impacted by Incarceration
We offer scholarships to students directly affected by incarceration, such as those with an incarcerated parent or family member. These scholarships empower students to pursue education and careers in criminal justice or related fields, equipping them to become advocates for change and equity within the justice system.
Legal Advocacy Through Direct Support
We provide financial support for skilled attorneys to represent qualified individuals convicted of nonviolent offenses. These attorneys specialize in compassionate release, sentence modifications, and post-conviction relief. By funding their representation, we give these individuals access to high-quality legal advocacy and the opportunity for a fresh start.
Supporting Families Through Financial Assistance
Incarceration impacts not only the individual but also their family. We provide financial assistance for essential needs such as travel, housing, and basic expenses. This support helps families remain connected and stable during challenging times, reducing the burden of incarceration's ripple effects.
Facilitating Mental Wellness for the Future
We understand the importance of mental wellness for both incarcerated individuals and their families. Our future initiatives aim to fund counseling services not only for individuals post- release but also for families while their loved one is incarcerated. By covering a portion or all of the costs for therapy sessions, we help families and individuals navigate the emotional challenges of incarceration and reintegration.

Our Story
A Family’s Journey,
A Legacy of Second Chances
Myles Away From Home, Inc. was inspired by the story of Myles Coker, a devoted father who served 23 years of a life sentence for a first-time, nonviolent offense. His sons, Clifton and Kelvin, never gave up on him. Alongside their mother Deborah, they tirelessly advocated for his release, demonstrating the transformative power of family, resilience, and hope. In 2021, they founded this organization to honor their father’s legacy and help others navigate the intimidating path to second chances.
